What is the UOB Private Bank minimum?

UOB names no minimum on its Private Bank website or its contact page. Two thresholds do appear in UOB's own Private Bank Client Referral Programme terms, valid 1 January to 31 December 2026:

  • a referred new client must place a minimum initial lump sum of S$5,000,000 (or its foreign-currency equivalent) in fresh funds within six months of account opening, and keep it there for six consecutive months (clause 5);
  • the existing client making the referral must maintain at least S$3,000,000 in assets under management with UOB Private Bank (clause 2).

Both are conditions of a referral reward, not a published entry rule. "Fresh funds" excludes money moved from existing UOB accounts or UOB investments. UOB states that account opening is at its sole discretion.

For a side-by-side view of what other banks state, see the Singapore private banking minimums table.

What are UOB Private Bank's requirements?

UOB does not publish a general eligibility list. Its 2026 referral terms describe the referred new client it will count:

  • an individual (not a company, business introducer or external asset manager);
  • at least 21 years old on becoming a UOB Private Bank customer;
  • no UOB Private Bank, Privilege Banking or Wealth Banking relationship in the previous 12 months;
  • resident in Singapore, China, Malaysia or Indonesia (for the referral programme);
  • passing UOB's know-your-client, anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorism-financing and other due-diligence checks.

UOB Private Bank is not a separately licensed company. Its client terms are issued by United Overseas Bank Limited (Co. Reg. What services does UOB Private Bank list?

UOB's Private Bank site lists investment advisory, discretionary portfolio management, investment solutions, credit solutions, family-office services and a next-generation programme. Its family-office page says clients get guidance to set up a family office in Singapore; it does not mention the Section 13O or 13U tax incentives, which are covered in our family office guide.

The contact page lists offices in Singapore (UOB Plaza 1 and Private Bank Suites @ORP), Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. UOB publishes no Private Bank fee schedule, so no fees are shown here.

This page is general information drawn from UOB's and MAS's own publications. It is not financial advice and does not compare UOB with other banks on quality. Thresholds can change; confirm them with UOB before relying on them.
