Pre-IPO

Also known as: late-stage growth, pre-IPO secondary

Definition
Pre-IPO investments are equity positions in late-stage private companies expected to list publicly within 1–3 years. Accessed via primary growth-equity rounds, secondary sales from earlier investors, or employee tender offers.

Singapore UHNW clients access pre-IPO via UHNW private banks (Citi PB, JP Morgan PB, Goldman PWM, Morgan Stanley PWM) and specialist secondaries platforms (Forge, EquityZen, CartaX, Hiive). Pre-IPO is high-risk concentrated equity exposure — a single position can be 20%+ of portfolio for entrepreneurs holding founder shares. Specialist concentrated-stock management is offered at Morgan Stanley PWM and Goldman PWM.
