Transaction Fee
Also known as: brokerage, trading commission
- Definition
- A transaction fee is a per-trade charge applied by the private bank or broker for executing buy/sell orders. Typically priced as bps of trade value or a flat rate per trade, with banded minimums.
Transaction fees vary by asset class and execution venue. Singapore private banks typically charge 0.1–0.5% of equity trade value, with bond trades priced via spread rather than explicit commission, and FX margins embedded in the quoted rate. Discretionary mandates often bundle transactions into the management fee. Always check the per-asset-class transaction schedule, not just the headline management fee.
