IRAS

Also known as: Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore

Definition
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) administers tax in Singapore — corporate income tax, personal income tax, GST, stamp duty, and property tax. Counterpart to MAS in the wealth-management context.

IRAS administers the Section 13O / 13U / 13D tax exemptions even though MAS approves the family-office applications. IRAS handles ongoing tax-residency status, dividend and interest taxation, and inter-corporate transactions. For HNW clients with multi-jurisdictional assets, IRAS interactions span tax-residency certificates, foreign-tax-credit claims, and reporting obligations under FATCA / CRS.
