Hedge Fund

Definition
A hedge fund is a privately offered investment vehicle with flexible mandate — long/short equity, global macro, relative value, event-driven, multi-strategy. Typical fee 2 management + 20 performance. Daily / monthly / quarterly liquidity depending on strategy.

Singapore hosts a large hedge-fund manager community — local-bred (Dymon Asia, Polymer, Ovata) and offshore-headquartered (Point72, Schonfeld, Citadel Asia, Millennium). MAS regulates fund managers via CMSL (FMC) or RFMC frameworks. UHNW clients access hedge funds via direct fund subscription (US$1–5M minimums) or via private-bank platforms with bundled access at lower per-fund minimums.
