CDP

Also known as: Central Depository

Definition
The Central Depository (CDP) is Singapore's securities depository, operated by SGX. Holds all SGX-listed equities, REITs, and ETFs in scripless form on behalf of Singapore investors and custodian banks.

Singapore residents typically hold SGX-listed securities directly in their own CDP account, while private-bank custodied portfolios hold under the bank's nominee CDP account. CDP accounts are linked to the investor's SingPass identity and bank account. For UHNW clients, CDP holdings appear on private-bank consolidated reporting via custody linkage.
