Sections 13R and 13X

- Definition
- Sections 13R and 13X are the legacy section numbers for what are now called Section 13O and Section 13U. The renumbering took effect with the 2019 Income Tax Act consolidation.
The 2019 rename was administrative only — substantive requirements at the time were unchanged. Subsequent 2022 tightening of business-spend, professional-headcount, and local-investment requirements applies to the current 13O / 13U numbering. References to 13R / 13X in older client materials should be read as referring to the current schemes with the current thresholds.
